Puranik is one of the few Indian athletes who have completed the IronMan Championship. He completed the Iron Man 70.3 at Dubai on 1 February 2019 and IronMan North American Championship at Texas, United States on 27 April 2019.[3] The IronMan Triathlon is considered as a litmus test of physical and mental strength of an individual. It consists of a 3.86 km swim, 180 km of bicycle ride and a 42.2. km marathon, which needs to be completed in the same order within 16 hours.

1) Late Dr kashibai Vasudeo Navrange (born 15/Oct/1878 Death 21/Aug/1946). Daughter of businessman and social reformer, Vasudeo Babaji Navrang.
When Indian ladies were not learning, Dr. Kashibai passed Matric in
1896 and B.A in 1901 from Wilson college, Mumbai with flashing
colours. She was first lady graduate from Mumbai University. In 1907
she passed L.M. & S (Medical Practitioners exam.) and started her own clinic in Bhuleshwar, Mumbai. An illustrious social worker, Dr Navrange, died of cancer on 21.08.1946.

2) Late Krishnaji Bhaskar Virkar - From Vir, Chiplun. MA, MEd. Was having Mastery in English and published his own Marathi to English Dictionary called Little Modern Dictionary, Anmol Prakashan (Also known as Virkars Dictionary). 5) Late Krishnaji Keshav Ambedkar (Mulye): Krishnaji Keshav Ambedkar was a son of a teacher named Keshav Narayan Mulye who migrated from Ambed Budruk near Sangmeshwar, Ratnagiri to Satara for Teachers Job. After going there he changed his name from Mulye to Ambedkar. Krishnaji also became teacher in Missionary school, Satara  where Dr. Babasaheb (Bhimrao) Ambedkar,  whose original surname was Sakpal and later changed to Ambavadekar based upon his native place Ambavade in Ratnagiri,  learned upto 4th std. Krishnaji Teacher,  who liked brilliant Dr. Babasaheb (Bhimrao) Ambavadekar. Dr. Babasheb also liked him and had a faith on
